Organizations with 12+ people to be developed at the same time are a good fit for an internal cohort. For organizations with less than 12 participants, we recommend looking at our Accelerate Institute™ and Elevate Institute™ programs.
Cohorts typically include four full day classes over the course of four months. However, internal cohorts offer a wider array of options, giving you the flexibility to provide training virtually or in-person, adjust program timelines, or seamlessly blend content from other subject-matter experts like internal leaders. Some partners integrate technical and business acumen training alongside our leadership skills content to equip leaders with everything they need to succeed in their roles.
One of the most enriching elements of a cohort-style learning environment is the opportunity to engage in peer coaching. These events allow participants the opportunity to talk about how they are incorporating the material taught in the classroom setting and trouble-shoot in a constructive safe space about challenges they face. Cohorts typically include 4 Communities of Practice scheduled between each of the class days. They typically range between 60 and 90-minutes depending on if they are hosted virtually or in person.
Every internal cohort participant benefits from an up-close coaching session led by an expert facilitator. These collaborative mentoring sessions are focused on skill transfer, helping participants apply the ideas and best practices from class to their real-world environment in tangible ways. Sessions are offered in either a small group or 1:1 setting depending on the organization’s preference and can be delivered virtually or in person. Internal cohorts offer additional options for added coaching support upon request.
Our content is customized to the needs of cohort participants, targeting the skill areas that they and their organizations have identified as priorities. Each participant and their supervisor take a confidential pre-program assessment that allows us to deliver the tools that are most relevant to each individual cohort. We also conclude each cohort with a post-program assessment to measure the growth that our participants have experienced over the course of the program.
Custom cohort clients have the unique opportunity to mix-and-match content from both our Accelerate Institute™ and Elevate Institute™ curriculum to best meet the needs of their learners. All participants receive a robust written resource that is specific to the content that their cohort will be focusing on. This working document is used as a guide throughout the cohort and remains as a resource upon completion of the program.
An internal cohort helps to establish a common language of leadership and build a strong network of leaders across the organization. Graduates of internal cohort programs are encouraged to continue meeting internally on consistent basis to to foster further organizational relationships, network with other values driven leaders, and tap into a safe environment for advice and peer-to-peer coaching.
